FM newsroom – logistics. Pepco is strengthening its European supply chain with a new purpose-built distribution centre near Gdańsk, developed by logistics specialist 7R. The project marks a significant investment in capacity, resilience and sustainable operations across the retailer’s growing network.
7R is delivering a new logistics centre for Pepco in Barniewice, near Gdańsk, under a long-term lease agreement covering more than 51,000 sqm of warehouse and office space.
The development will become Pepco’s sixth distribution centre in Europe and is designed to support the retailer’s continued expansion across the continent.
Pepco operates more than 4,100 stores across 18 European markets and relies on an intermodal transport model that combines road and sea freight to improve efficiency and support last-mile delivery.
Strategic location with multimodal access
The new facility, 7R Park Gdańsk V, has been positioned to maximise connectivity. Located close to the S6 Tricity Metropolitan Bypass, the site also benefits from direct access to Baltic shipping routes through the Port of Gdańsk and proximity to Gdańsk Lech Wałęsa Airport’s cargo infrastructure.
For Pepco, the location offers greater operational flexibility while reinforcing distribution capability across Northern and Central Europe.

Pepco has consistently pursued such a strategy, expanding its network by hundreds of new stores across Europe year after year. The facility we are developing in the Tricity area is an important element of this expansion,” Marzena Taube, Leasing & Development Director, North-West Region at 7R, commented.
Sustainability built into the brief
Delivered under a build-to-suit model, the development will incorporate energy-efficient and low-carbon solutions including photovoltaic panels, LED lighting with DALI controls and electric vehicle charging points.
The site is targeting BREEAM Excellent certification and will also include facilities tailored to operational and workforce needs, including dedicated employee parking.
Strengthening Poland’s warehouse market
The investment reinforces Pomerania’s position as one of Poland’s strongest logistics regions, supported by established transport infrastructure and growing warehouse capacity.
For 7R, the project further expands its regional footprint and underlines continued demand for large-scale, sustainability-led industrial developments.
