A Benchmark for Sustainable Offices
Romanian developer Genesis Property has achieved BREEAM “Outstanding” certification for the DE building within YUNITY Park. The rating confirms both the building’s performance and its management standards, scoring 85.9% and 89.4% respectively — each equivalent to a six-star level.
As reported in the company announcement, the 31,000 sqm building has been designed to meet stringent sustainability criteria, combining energy-efficient systems with high indoor air quality and facilities that support employee wellbeing and low-carbon mobility.
Smart Systems Driving Performance
A key factor behind the certification is the integration of smart building technologies. Genesis Property uses advanced building management systems and IoT solutions to monitor ventilation, temperature, humidity and CO₂ levels in real time.
This data-led approach allows facility teams to respond quickly, optimise energy and water consumption, and maintain a consistently comfortable indoor environment — all critical factors for modern workplace performance.
Materials and Lifecycle Thinking
Sustainability also extends to material choices. The DE building incorporates low-emission, recyclable and durable materials, alongside modular solutions that can be reused or disassembled at the end of their lifecycle.
