Building I in Vlněna complex targets the highest certifications

FM newsroom – office, Czechia. CTP opened its state-of-the-art office building I in Brno’s Vlněna complex, which was created by revitalising a former brownfield site. The 60-metre-high building boasts innovative technologies, including a drone mail system.

Ambitious spaces

Building I in Vlněna complex features an advanced smart office concept. This includes intelligent lighting that automatically adapts to the number of people in the room and air quality control, controlled by intelligent systems for heating, cooling, heat recovery and humidity. The building targets the highest BREEAM Outstanding and WELL Platinum and Wiredscore Platinum certifications.

“Building I represents the perfect combination of cutting-edge design, modern technology and sustainability. Its opening is a significant milestone for us and confirms our long-term vision to create spaces that support the growth of our clients and partners. I am delighted that we have been able to create this gem in Brno, a region that is key to CTP and where we have long supported the development of the local economy and communities.” – Michal Dospěl, Director of Construction for the South Moravia region at CTP told EurobuildCEE.

Built-in unique technologies

The highlight of the opening ceremony was the test flight of the drone, which symbolically delivered the first shipment directly to the roof of the building. This drone mail system is the first of its kind in the Czech Republic and Europe and opens up new possibilities in parcel delivery. The system uses the unique Drone Helipad, which enables the safe receipt of parcels from drones or other unmanned systems.

“Building I is the result of our efforts to push the boundaries of architecture and technology. In the design process, we focused not only on aesthetics but also on functionality and sustainability. Its iconic glass façade and smart technologies make this building a unique working environment that will serve current and future generations.” – Václav Hlaváček, architect of Studio acht.

Vlněna complex comprises almost 80,000 sqm in eight office buildings currently occupied by IT and technology companies. The complex also includes a fitness centre, cafés, restaurants and retail space. In the spring of 2021, CTP also opened its first coworking centre in Vlněna, Clubco.

The new Building I now welcomes its first tenants, which include PKV BUILD, an international player in energy consulting, which will occupy nearly 3,000 sqm of office space spread over four floors.
