New assignments in the Czech Republic: Historical buildings managed by B+N’s subsidiary

It might be commonplace that the Czech Republic is full of beautiful cultural attractions, buildings and institutions. Of these, two outstanding landmarks are now being cleaned by B+N’s Czech subsidiary.

Extraordinary institutions mean grand tasks

When in Prague, one of the ‘must-sees’ is the Klementinum complex, founded by the Jesuits in 1556, in the most popular part of the Old Town, near Charles Bridge. This is one of the largest complexes of buildings in Europe where the order founded a school within its beautiful Baroque walls, which later became a university.  In addition to classrooms and dormitories, they also built a library, a printing press, a pharmacy, a theatre and, of course, church buildings. In 1654, it was merged with Charles University, becoming its faculty of philosophy and theology. Since 1930 it has been the seat of the National Library of the Czech Republic.

“We are very proud to be cleaning this extraordinary institution from August 2022. We have a big job: 50,000 sqm of surface area and 17,000 sqm of windows to keep clean. We will also clean the exterior surfaces and remove snow in winter,”- Libor Holik, Director of B+N Reference’s Czech and Slovak subsidiaries explained.

10,000 sqm of historic surface: spa, hotel, café and restaurant

B+N cleans the Czech Republic’s most famous spa also. Janské Lázně owes its fame to the healing thermal spring, that was discovered in 1006! Jan Adolf Schwarzenberg was the founder of the famous spa in the 17th century. Already then, the first buildings were built. At the beginning of the 20th century, it became world-famous for its successful treatment of polio.

The tradition, quality and experience are still successfully maintained today: the water and therapy here contribute to the success of medical treatment of musculoskeletal problems, neurological problems, multiple sclerosis and respiratory diseases.

B+N also cleans this beautiful complex, which covers 10,000 sqm, including the hotel, wellness centre, restaurant and café.
