FM newsroom – hotel, airport. Budapest Liszt Ferenc International Airport will have one more hotel with direct access to the terminal next year. WING’s TRIBE Budapest Airport Hotel has reached the stage of structural completion.
In a quest for high-quality and diverse services
The new, four-star TRIBE Budapest Airport Hotel reached its structurally completed phase. The hotel, located within walking distance of the entrance to Terminal 2, will be inaugurated in 2025 Q2. According to the official announcement, the new TRIBE will offer 167 rooms and a total floor area of 8,000 sqm. With this project, the range of airport hotel rooms will be expanded both in quantity and quality. The already well-known and popular three-star ibis Budapest Airport Hotel will be complemented by the four-star quality services of the TRIBE brand.
“As Hungary’s largest international airport is a key location for the Hungarian tourism industry, opening the TRIBE Budapest Airport Hotel in 2025 will be a major milestone for both WING and the airport. The new facility will further expand the airport’s service infrastructure, and our Group will join the select club of real estate developers that have already delivered at least 1,000 hotel rooms in Hungary, “- shared Noah Steinberg, CEO of WING.
Budapest Airport’s passenger traffic in 2024 is forecast to exceed the record year 2019. The construction of the new hotel is an important step towards maintaining a high-quality, comfortable, and diverse service in and around the airport, even as passenger numbers continue to grow.
“We are delighted to see that the construction has reached another milestone, and business and leisure passengers will be able to take possession of the new hotel as early as 2025,” – said Balázs Bogáts, Deputy Chief Commercial Officer of Budapest Airport.
One of the first BREEAM-certified hotels in Hungary
TRIBE Budapest Airport Hotel will offer unique, stylish and functional spaces, catering for travellers. It will feature a 150-seat conference space, two meeting rooms, a fitness centre and a rooftop skybar, combining stunning views with curated culinary experiences. The hotel is designed with sustainability in mind, making it one of Hungary’s first BREEAM-certified hotels.
Hungary’s largest international airport plays a pivotal role in both central European and domestic tourism, and the new terminal-linked hotel will contribute to its further development. The existing ibis Styles extended with the new TRIBE hotel is expected to meet the ever-increasing passenger traffic and guests’ demand for higher standard services.
