First tenants to move into BakerStreet in June

FM newsroom – office, Budapest. ATENOR’s A+ office complex in South Buda, designed and built to the highest ESG standards, has received its occupancy permit. The first building of BakerStreet, with 16,643 sqm, will house the Budapest headquarters of the E.ON Hungária Group. The building is 100% leased, and tenants will occupy it in June.

The most sustainable buildings in the city

In 2019, ATENOR purchased the 5,711 sqm brownfield site in the 11th district of Budapest. Following the demolition of the building complex, formerly a bakery, the construction of an 8-storey office building with terraces, a ground-floor restaurant, a 4-storey underground garage, an internal community space, a garden and a pedestrian zone started in 2021reports realista.ingatlan.com

At the same time, the developer signed an agreement to purchase the adjacent 8,326 sqm plot in early 2021. Here, as the second phase of BakerStreet, Budapest’s most sustainable A+ category office building with 24,500 sqm of leasable space will be built. Both BakerStreet buildings are ESG compliant, BREEAM Excellent and Access4You Gold certified.

Since 2008, Belgian property developer ATENOR has been active in 10 European countries, including Hungary. It is known as a leading city centre developer, creating sustainable office and residential projects with a circular economy approach, enriching communities with landscaped public spaces and a wide range of services.

Economic and people-centred

The completed Phase 1 of the Artonic-designed BakerStreet complex, and the planned Phase 2, are outstanding examples of a future-shaping development strategy.  The buildings focus on people-centred experiences, economy, sustainability, innovative solutions and flexible working.

“We are proud that we were able to keep the construction on schedule from start to finish and obtain the occupancy permit ahead of schedule. The fact that BakerStreet is 100% occupied even before its handover is clear proof that there is still a strong demand for modern workspaces with high technical and aesthetic standards. In addition to meeting environmental and maintenance requirements, BakerStreet is a home for teamwork, serving the needs of changing work culture and the well-being of the residents in the area.” – Norbert Schőmer, Country Director of Atenor Hungary
