While fans experienced the excitement of the UEFA Champions League Final at Budapest’s Puskás Arena, hundreds of professionals worked behind the scenes to ensure the event ran flawlessly. Among them were 150 employees of B+N Magyarország Kft., whose cleaning and technical teams played a vital role in preparing and maintaining the stadium for one of the world’s biggest sporting events.
The UEFA Champions League Final at the Puskás Arena was not only a major sporting event but also a significant organisational and operational challenge. Before tens of thousands of fans, international delegations, media representatives, and VIP guests arrived, the stadium had to be in flawless condition. Behind the scenes, the coordinated efforts of multiple companies, subcontractors, and professional partners ensured the highest standards were met.
B+N Magyarország Kft. played a key role in this process. The company’s team worked every day to ensure that every area of the stadium was ready to welcome visitors. Around 150 employees worked throughout the facility daily. Nearly 100 staff members handled cleaning operations across approximately 360,000 square meters, while around 50 technical specialists remained on continuous standby, preparing the stadium’s infrastructure for one of the world’s biggest sporting events.
Coordinated, Precise, and Responsible Teamwork
The cleaning team provided comprehensive services across VIP areas, fan zones, stands, more than 900 restrooms, offices, and outdoor spaces. Waste collection was carried out with a strong focus on recycling and selective sorting. Regular restroom inspections, disinfection procedures, and ongoing cleaning were essential to ensure the stadium consistently met international standards.
UEFA Sets the Technical Requirements
The technical team’s responsibilities were equally complex. Their work included preparing seating areas, laying cable routes, carrying out mechanical works, and performing maintenance tasks. In addition, they met all technical requirements specified by UEFA and aligned with their professional qualifications. Continuous monitoring and maintenance of the stadium’s electrical network and technical systems were critical to ensuring the event ran smoothly.
Cleaners Walked 20+ Kilometres a Day
Preparation for the event began several weeks before the match. On match day, both cleaning and technical teams worked around the clock, 24/7. A single cleaner could walk 25–30 kilometres per day, with an average work round involving roughly 3,000 steps. Their duties included maintaining constant cleanliness, resolving issues immediately, and ensuring uninterrupted stadium operations.
For spectators, the UEFA Champions League Final is primarily a football spectacle. For the professionals working behind the scenes, however, it is a demonstration of coordinated, precise, and responsible teamwork—without which no international event of this calibre could take place.
